Abbas Araghchi, Iranian Foreign Minister has accused the United States of repeatedly making strategic miscalculations because of intelligence failures, including its decision to go to war with Iran.
Araghchi made the accusation in a post on Thursday, saying Washington had “long miscalculated due to intelligence failures” and citing the war with Iran as a major example. He also warned that the United States could be making an even bigger miscalculation over the Strait of Hormuz.
ARAGHCHI BLAMES “FAKE INTELLIGENCE”
The Iranian foreign minister argued that poor intelligence had contributed to U.S. strategic errors.
He warned Washington against relying on what he characterised as faulty intelligence, stressing that the consequences could become more serious if the United States misjudges the situation surrounding the Strait of Hormuz.
“Worse than fake news is fake intelligence,” Araghchi said, according to reports of his statement.
