Massie Unleashes Epstein Bombshell: Is Washington Running the Government or Dodging the Files?

Rep. Thomas Massie has thrown another political grenade into the already explosive debate over the Jeffrey Epstein files, alleging that Israel has significant influence over the U.S. government and suggesting that powerful billionaires could be among those being protected from damaging revelations. Massie’s remarks have added fresh fuel to a controversy that has already produced congressional battles, demands for transparency and accusations that powerful interests are standing between the public and the full truth.

Massie Turns the Epstein Files Into a Washington Power Question

Massie’s argument is particularly provocative because he has made the release of Epstein-related records a major political issue. In July 2026, he joined lawmakers from both parties in introducing the Epstein Files Transparency Act II, seeking legal avenues to challenge the Justice Department over disclosure requirements.

The Kentucky Republican has also argued that the files could contain information involving wealthy donors and politically connected individuals. In earlier comments, Massie said he believed powerful people were being protected, while stressing that appearing in Epstein-related records would not automatically mean someone had committed a crime.

When Billionaires, Intelligence and Politics Enter the Same Sentence

Massie has separately claimed that Epstein had connections involving U.S. and Israeli intelligence circles and that those connections could help explain resistance to releasing certain information. He has also questioned the extent of Israel’s influence over American policy, making the Epstein controversy part of a much broader argument about foreign influence, lobbying and political power.

But here is where Washington’s political circus needs a giant fact-checking sign: Massie’s allegations about Israel controlling the U.S. government are claims, not established facts. Publicly available records document Epstein’s relationships with various prominent people, including Israeli figures, but that does not establish that the Israeli government controls the U.S. government or that Israel possesses and controls the entire Epstein archive. The political debate therefore remains heated, while the evidence required to prove such sweeping allegations remains a separate question.

For now, Massie has succeeded in putting three uncomfortable words back at the center of the American political conversation: who has influence? With Epstein records still generating congressional fights and political accusations, Washington appears to have discovered that transparency is much easier to demand than to deliver. OGM News will continue watching the controversy as lawmakers battle over what should be released, what should remain classified and who, if anyone, has something serious to lose when the remaining pages come into public view.
