Donnie Wahlberg Says NKOTB’s Final Las Vegas Shows Will Be “Super Emotional” as He Teases What Comes Next

Donnie Wahlberg is preparing to say goodbye to New Kids on the Block’s Las Vegas residency, but judging by his latest comments, the final shows are going to come with plenty of feelings, surprises and enough nostalgia to make every Blockhead check their old posters.

The singer and actor opened up about the group’s final Las Vegas performances, revealing that the closing shows will be “super emotional” while teasing new elements that will make the last stretch of the residency different from what fans have already seen.

Donnie Wahlberg Says the Final Shows Will Hit Differently

NKOTB’s “The Right Stuff Remixed” residency has already delivered plenty of Vegas-sized spectacle, with the group incorporating elaborate staging, flying elements, confetti, streamers and fan-focused moments into the production.

But with the final 2026 performances approaching, Wahlberg says the atmosphere is expected to become even more emotional. The group’s final scheduled Vegas dates are October 2, 3, 7, 9, 10, 14, 16 and 17 at Dolby Live at Park MGM.

Apparently, after decades of singing about having “the right stuff,” the New Kids have now discovered that the hardest part may simply be saying goodbye to a stage they have called home.

Donnie Wahlberg Teases New Surprises for Blockheads

Wahlberg has also hinted that the final shows will not simply be a repeat of the residency fans have already experienced. The revamped production was designed with new songs, outfits, surprise moments and enhanced fan experiences, giving the group plenty of room to keep things fresh.

And because this is Las Vegas, apparently “final shows” cannot simply mean walking onto the stage, singing the hits and going home. There has to be spectacle. There has to be drama. There has to be at least one moment that makes somebody scream like it is 1989 all over again.

Donnie Wahlberg Opens the Door to What Comes Next

While the Las Vegas chapter is approaching its conclusion, Wahlberg’s comments suggest that NKOTB’s journey is far from being treated as finished. The group has already announced that it will not tour in 2027, making the Vegas finale an especially significant moment for fans before the band’s next scheduled touring chapter.

For a group that first became a pop phenomenon decades ago and reunited in 2007, the ability to keep attracting fans into their 50s is itself another chapter in the NKOTB story. Their Vegas residency has turned nostalgia into a full production — and apparently, the Blockheads are not ready to put the nostalgia machine in storage.

So as Donnie Wahlberg prepares for those final Vegas nights, fans can expect emotions, surprises and plenty of classic NKOTB energy. The lights may eventually go down on the residency, but if the New Kids have taught their fans anything, it is that the party can always find another stage.

Buzz Legit FC will continue to follow what comes next for Donnie Wahlberg and New Kids on the Block.
