Trump Boasts of Solving Rose Garden Mystery After Spotting Gash in White House Stonework

President Donald Trump has declared himself the man who solved what he called a “Rose Garden mystery” after noticing a deep gash in the White House limestone walkway. The president Trump said the damage, which stretched more than 25 yards, was left by careless contractors moving heavy equipment through the historic garden.

In a video posted to his Truth Social account on Saturday night, Trump shared footage of the workers responsible and criticized their handling of the job. “Surfaces are very important to me as a builder,” he wrote. “I used, at the White House, the most beautiful marble and stone available anywhere. As everyone knows, I built many GREAT buildings over the years.”

The Video Evidence

The president Trump said his state-of-the-art surveillance system caught the culprits in action. In the footage, two workers can be seen maneuvering a pallet jack loaded with landscaping materials along the narrow limestone path. At one point, the equipment appears to snag in a bush, tilting precariously before dragging across the stone surface.

Trump claimed that the subcontractors failed to notice the trail of damage behind them as they pressed forward. “They brought back the stupid people, with their boss watching (in sunglasses!),” the president wrote, expressing frustration at what he described as “unacceptable negligence.”

President Trump Public Rebuke and Punishment

The president Trump did not mince words in his public dressing-down of the team. He said the subcontractor responsible would be permanently barred from working at the White House. “I love and respect great workers and contractors, but something like this should never happen,” Trump stated. “Now, I’ll replace the stone, charge the contractor, and never let that contractor work at the White House again.”

He also emphasized that his renovation project for the Rose Garden was intended to enhance both its durability and beauty. “The Rose Garden is completed, and far more beautiful than anyone ever had in mind when it was conceived of, decades ago,” he said.

A New Look for a Historic Space

This is the second major overhaul of the Rose Garden under Donald’s leadership. His latest project paved over the previously grassy lawn, a decision he said was driven by practicality. According to Trump, grass often remained damp and proved inconvenient for women attending events in high heels.

The original Rose Garden, established during President John F. Kennedy’s administration, has long served as the backdrop for presidential announcements, ceremonial events, and the annual Thanksgiving turkey pardon. Trump’s redesign marks a sharp departure, turning the once-lush lawn into a more structured and durable space.

A Legacy of Renovation

Trump has repeatedly expressed pride in reshaping the Executive Mansion and its grounds during his second term. In 2020, then-First Lady Melania Donald unveiled an earlier redesign that introduced a limestone walking path, improved drainage, and greater accessibility for people with disabilities.

For the president Trump, the latest controversy underscores his determination to maintain the White House to his own standards of perfection. While he expressed fury at the careless contractors, he also marveled at the technology that exposed them. “How great is the video equipment? We caught them, cold,” he wrote.
